Two of my most favorite lady-type persons on earth. Allesandra Bellos and Elizabeth Williams. And this incredibly tall bearded fella who approached me while shooting pictures at a farm-machinery show, introduced himself as “Boogie” (with the accent on the “boo”) and started up a lengthy conversation. Immensely tall, a little bent by time, and carrying (no kidding) a walking staff. Thought of a rural version of the Gandalf “You shall not pass!” meme. “Ain’t passin,’ ya varmint!”

Faux Tintypes, Part 3: Buddy, Beardy, and...oh, nevermind
A few more of these. Old pal, sculptor, designer, banjo-player Buddy Jackson. New pal Elizabeth Williams of Isle of Printing. David Powell, podiatrist, glass artist and snappy beard owner.

Que Sera, Sera.
This is my friend Caroline’s granddaughter from NoCal. Pronounced like “Sarah.” She was visiting the grandparents (and GREAT grandmother Jean) recently here in the Bedford Falls of southern Indiana, and we did a tiny little shoot the day before she headed back west. “I should tell you...I’m not very photogenic,” she tells me as a preamble. Balderdash, I say to this.

Faux Tintypes Pt. 2 (Lordy, Lordy, Lora’s...thorty?)
Really lovely party in Church Park (where the original Harmonist church stood). My sweet friend Lora Arneberg turned 30 a while back and had the party today because of bad weather on the original date. Was shooting the gig “for real” with the big camera, but as usual, love the faux-tintypes. Thank you, Mr. Apple, for your wondrous invention.
Entertainment by Opal Fly & the Swatters. Great music and sideshow-style exploits. Belly dancing transformed a young boy’s life. A fire-breathing lap-dance was had. Everybody had tails (you had to be there)
Good food and drink and hats and friends were had. Perfect evening.

Jake Leg Stompin’
The Jake Leg Stompers’ new record release last night at the Station Inn in Nashville was quite a rare night out. A good time was had by all with a pulse. A few pictures from the iPhone.
